THEMATIC EXHBITION SLOVENIKA
Philately
In the glass showcases you can admire collections which show different ways of collecting stamps and other philatelic material. Some are just demonstration exhibits chosen by their authors, while in other cases the competition rules are considered since they have taken part at the competition exhibitions:
* Exhibit Beer is a winner of the gold medal at world’s philatelic exhibition in Washington. (author: Vencelj Ferant)
* Exhibit Bicycle – progress and usage is a product of a young exhibitor that has been awarded with a silver medal at several fairs both around the world and here in Europe (Espana 2004, Brno 2005, Washington 2006, Belgica 2006). (author: Staša Bračič)
* A one glass showcase exhibit Verigarske dopisnice 1919-1921 has been awarded with a silver medal at several world’s fairs. (author: Igor Pirc)
* A one glass showcase exhibit Verigarji shows the basic position of the classics of Slovene philately: stamps with the motive of a slave tearing the chains, which gave these stamps their name. (author: Dušan Božič)
* Thematic exhibit 100 years of the Scout Movement and 150th anniversary of Lord Baden Powell’s birth, founder of the Scouting Movement, is just a part of a large collection with the scout motive. (author: Tone Simončič)
* The unusual ways of air mail is a demonstrative exhibit representing aerophilately. This collection presents the mail that travelled in air by various means. (author: Bojan Bračič)
* Maribor 1820 -1945 is an exhibit of post history, part of the Alpeadriaphila 2004 international exhibition in Zagreb, where it has been awarded with the gold medal. The exhibit is a study on postmarks that the post offices in Maribor used to have and an analysis of postal rates in different periods.

Antiques
PAPIRNATI VRTILJAK (PAPER CARROUSEL) – An exhibition on old Slovene juvenile and children's literature
Visitors can admire old Slovene juvenile and children's literature published in the period between the second half of the nineteenth century to the firs half of the twentieth century. Old juvenile and children's literature is very rare and they are becoming more and more popular both here at home and around the world. At the antiquarian fairs abroad they are already considered very valuable and that is why we decided to include them too.
The material for the exhibition was contributed by private collectors from Slovenia on the initiative of Antikvariat Glavan from Ljubljana. The curator Katarina Glavan Batagelj prepared the selection and descriptions.
Minerals and fossils, ornamental and precious stones
At Collecta you will be able to admire fossils from sites in Slovenia, part of collections of the members of Društvo prijateljev mineralov in fosilov Slovenije from Tržič. The world of minerals will be presented by The Idrija Mercury Mine, which has the longest mine tradition in Slovenia, and Mežica lead and zinc mine, which is known for the most wonderful wulfenite and calcite crystals in Slovenia. The Slovenian Museum of Natural History presents minerals and the publication Mineralna bogastva Slovenije, prepared in collaboration with the members of Društvo prijateljev mineralov in fosilov Slovenije. Slovensko gemološko društvo presents some Slovene jewels and unique jewellery made of gold and jewels. The exhibition space is decorated with pictures from The Idrija Mercury Mine taken by Arnet Hodalič.
Zmago Žorž and Josef Kolar will present minerals and the new geological path Oberhaag (A) – Remšnik (SLO).
Frenk Stare from Žabnice (Upper Carniola) will present a part of his frog collection made of various materials from around the world.
