Thematic field: Minerals, fossils, jewels

  Amber
The Slovenian Museum of Natural History (PMS) presents fossilized resin of coniferous trees – amber and its variations together with a publication on fossil richness in Slovenia. The Slovenian Gemnological Association (SGD) will present a sample of grinding and jewels made of amber.

At Collecta Fair we present mineral and fossil specimens selected from the Friends of Minerals and Fossils Association of Slovenia (DPMFS) members' collections. Fluorite is one of the most popular minerals among collectors, as we can find it in different colours, crystal shapes and combined with other minerals. Also the most beautiful fluorite crystals found in Osojnik pod Blagošem will be put on display

From his own collection, Vili Rakovc, an amateur collector from Kranj, has selected Slovenian and foreign rare fossils from different geologic periods for the exhibition.

Viljem Podgoršek will present Slovenian miocene fossils from the fossils collection of PanGea, a private Museum of Geology and Paleontology. Specially from the North-Eastern part, infact hills formed during this geological period. Many new sites of fossilized life forms were discovered during the construction of Slovenia's motorways and other works. All gathered material has not been evaluated by experts yet.

Thematic field: Numismatics


  Coins and banknotes
A clear collection of coins presenting single samples from ancient times, primitive substitute money, early coins up to modern coins.
Collection of banknotes used in Slovenia during the foreign occupation: lire in the territory under Italian rule, marks in the area under the German occupation (Gorenjska, Štajerska) and pönge in North-Eastern Slovenia, ruled by Hungary.

Collection of postcards presenting extreme weather conditions in Slovenia: floods, consequences of heavy snow, snow slides and hurricane force winds – wind breakage in Jelovica, train overturned by a strong north-easterly wind (Bora)) near Ilirska Bistrica and Carsic north-easterly wind (Bora) in the Trieste area.

We shall admire basic types of early Slovenian stamps from 1919, the use of chainbreaker stamps on different postal documents, a presentation of postal slogans (flams), extra fee unindented Slovenian self adhesive stamps, whole letters, postal whole, postal continent and the forming philatelic collection Collecta 2007. 2008 and 2009.

Thematic field: Militaria


  Military and firefighting history in Slovenia
The Slovenian Association of Milirary Insigna Collectors will display decorations from different periods of military and firefighting history in Slovenia: the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Second World War, the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, Independent Slovenia. The newspaper Zbiratelj (Collector)) will also be exhibited.

      Comic books in Slovenia
With an 80-year history, comics have been present in Slovenia for a long time.
Stripoholik društvo (Comic Lovers Association) and its members display some interesting Slovenian authors' samples from private collections. The aim of the exhibition is to awaken an interest in comics and to show that we really appreciate the works of the nineth art Slovenian artists!

Področje: Kinder in Pez figurice


  Pez
»Play and sweeten yourself!« this was the sales slogan for Pez figurines in Slovenia in 1972. Numerous presented figurines were made out in Ormož while Pez sweets were produced by Kolinska in Ljubljana. Many cartoon heroes and even Elvis Presley have followed one another from 1950 simple figurines up to today.

  Kinder figurines
Surely nearly every child knows Kinder Eggs. Tasty chocolate eggs hiding a surprise toy inside. Since 1974, thousands of easily-assembled figurines of cars, planes, ships and cartoon heroes have been made. All these figurines have attracted many collectors.

Other thematic fields


  Railway modelling and collecting in the past and present
As you can see from the exhibition title, Railway linked items collected by collectors from all over the world will be presented at Collecta. The emphasis will be put on Railway modeling, displaying samples of stamp collections with Railway themes, badges, clocks, timetables, various old documents, postcards with Railway themes, inscription boards, lamps, tickets, old books, maps, and various items from buttons to small tools, etc.
During the modelling presentation, there will be a display of both the old and the modern constructed steam engine, a 100-year-old steam locomotive, small railways made of white sheet metal, railway and tramway models sizes N, HOn2, HO, On3, G and a 5 inch scale steam model locomotive.
We intend to display model locomotives and carriages from Europe and USA and some special items like the Russian models in HO etc.

  France Prešeren, from first publications to balls of chocolate.
It has been 160 years since the poet's death, which is an opportunity to display his work. Together with the original first publication of Poezije (Poems), Krst pri Savici (Baptism on the Savica) and the poet's first publications in the newspapers of his time, there will be other variations of his work. Among other things displayed, you will find the first Slovenian facsimile, the first Slovenian publication of Prešeren's Poezije (Poems), the forbidden heading of the second publication and the only bibliophilic publication issued during the occupation period. Different depictions on old postcards, pictures or other media will be exhibited.

  A little different Collecting
Tone Simončič will demonstrate the concept of large range collecting, presenting collections of bookmarks, tea bags, pocket calendars, declarations, self-adhesive labels on fruit, items we get while drinking coffee (sugar sachets, biscuits, mini chocolates, serviettes etc…), humorous cards, focusing at the same time on the collection of periodical literature (Hemeroteca) and children’s humour.
