CHILDREN’S CORNER
Location: hall B2 basement
Every day during the fair, there will be workshops for children in a corner meant especially for them. This way the young will get to know the collection world in detail. They will be introduced to Philately by writing letters, postcards and drawing stamps. In addition to all of this, they will search for gold in the Drava gold-bearing sand. At the corner, children will find out how strips are created, etc.

Workshop descriotion: The Drava and Mura are gold-bearing rivers. The primary gold deposits are situated in the Austrian Visoke Ture, from which brooks and rivers carry them downhill to the lowlands of both rivers. In the Drava gold-bearing sand from the area, visitors will be able to separate fine sand from larger gravel stones. Using a gold pan they will wash out hard minerals. The lighter metals will swim off, while the heavier ones – different garnets and gold flakes – will remain inside the pan. "Gold panners" will be able to look at the gold flakes under the microscope and to check if they are really present on the gold-bearing site. They will be allowed to take their gold findings home without any charge.
