"What can we say about our experience at Collecta? Simply awesome! Maxim Ghiumiusliu, Managing Director, Philatelic Bureau, Kyrgyz Express Post

We are very grateful to Maxim for his kind words and wish that in the next years Collecta will be attended by other posts.

JUBILEE COLLECTA HAS ENDED

(29 March 2016)

After three days of exchanging and trading, we successfully concluded the 10TH Collecta. This year's Collecta hosted 133 exhibitors from 20 countries. More than 6,000 visitors were able to enjoy the diverse fair events, which, traditionally, already hosted collectors of vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, stamps, figurines, coins, banknotes, postcards, Kinder and Pez figurines, etc. At the same time they were able to attend 4 educational events, including an auction of old books and prints organized by Antikvariat Glavan and a gold panning workshop.

This year's Collecta also hosted a special exhibition in the occasion of this year's golden edition, where we were able to put on display (with the help of the Numismatic Cabinet of the National Museu of Slovenia), the first world banknote. Traditionally we also prepared other thematic exhibitions with the help of our programme comittee.

Both Marmorna Halls are again proof that collecting is an important hobby not only from a merchandise point of view but also from a cultural heritage point of view which enables many countries to keep cultural and historical material ... al this is made possible because collectors are very detailed researchers of historical events.

We take this opportunity to thank all participants and visitors, who, for the 10th subsequent year, helped to reinforce the importance of Collecta in the collectors’ area of SE-Europe.

(3 April 2015)

The fact that yet again another collectors fair Collecta turned to be a great and interesting fair full of many interesting events, is proved by some foto moments available in the photogallery. Kindly invited to take a look at the link below

9th COLLECTA SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

(28th March 2015)

After three days of exchanging and trading, we successfully concluded the 9th Collecta. This year's Collecta hosted 149 exhibitors from 18 countries. 6,100 visitors were able to enjoy the diverse fair events, which, traditionally, already hosted collectors of vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, stamps, figurines, coins, banknotes, postcards, Kinder and Pez figurines, etc. At the same time they were able to attend 7 educational events, including an auction of old books and prints organized by Antikvariat Glavan, and 8 events in the context of a parallel program, which hosted the Slovenian Cinematheque and the Technical Museum of Slovenia.

This year, Collecta’s uniqueness was also due to the rich exhibition. 23 different thematic exhibitions fascinated visitors for all three days, the most prominent among them were the Collection of Spy Cameras, the Exhibition of Projectors and Cameras, the Zither Exhibition and, for the first time put on display, the Exhibition of Personal Stamps issued by Pošta Slovenije, the largest Scout Exhibition of Stamps, etc ... Visitors were very impressed by the autographs of legendary Miki Muster, who visited Collecta on Friday, 27th March.

In the context of exhibitions, Collecta has celebrated numerous anniversaries:
  • 200th anniversary of Janez Puhar, world inventor of photography on glass and pioneer of Slovenian photography;
  • 110th anniversary of dr. Karol Grossmann, during which the first Slovenian film “On the home garden” was shown;
  • 110th anniversary of the Prešeren’s monument in Ljubljana;
  • Miki Muster’s 90th anniversary;
  • 60th anniversary of the Ljubljana Exhibition and Conference Center.
The remarkable success of this year's Collecta proves that fair trade, which enables a tangible contact with the material put on sale, the gathering together of visitors and traders and the exchange of experience and ideas, is an essential event value. New forms of exchange, such as on-line sales, cannot replace genuine human contacts.

We take this opportunity to thank all participants and visitors, who, for the 9th subsequent year, helped to reinforce the importance of Collecta in the collectors’ area of SE-Europe.

See you again at the Jubilee 10th Collecta

from 24th to 26th March 2016!

OCCASIONAL MATERIAL

(7 March 2015)

For the second time we have invited a renowned designer, illustrator and photographer, Matjaž Učakar, who has already created numerous commemorative coins for the Bank of Slovenia, commemorative postage stamps and postcards illustrated for the Postal Service of Slovenia, Telekom phone cards and other materials. Učakar illustrated fair commemorative material as early as 2013. The author stated the following about the fair commemorative material:

"The very topic of how to display light on stamps along with minerals was a challenge, as the stamp should be bright and lively enough to be interesting for collectors. Light trapped in crystal chandeliers, reflecting the colours in the room, and an old vinyl record, whose spiral grooves touched by the beam of light through the crystal scatters in the rainbow, were quite a good basis for thinking. The decision to depict a diamond with a stylised rainbow on stamps and on other philatelic products was actually quite easy for me, because also Dr. Miha Jeršek well justified this phenomenon"; "Visible light is made up of the whole spectrum of rainbow colours, which can be clearly seen in the rainbow, when light is refracted and dispersed into tiny raindrops. Upon the transition of visible light, crystal absorbs part of the light and the stone colour is linked to the sum of unabsorbed colours. In the case of cut crystals, such as diamond, two things happen: visible light, due to refraction on the sharp edges of the faceted grinder, disperses in all spectral colours; the stone colour itself is a reflection of absorption. In the case of diamonds, completely colourless stones are generally appreciated, which means that the light is not absorbed in them. In rare cases, a portion of light is absorbed and then, even diamonds can be coloured. The most appreciated are red, blue, green and then pink, followed by the other colours. These are rare jewels and especially appreciated by collectors. All of these still have a dispersion of light present, which means that they are very attractive: they have their own colour and all spectral colours, this gives them brightness, especially if the stone is ground, such as, for example, if the diamond is cut in the form of a brilliant grindstone that we wear in our rings."

8TH COLLECTA ALSO A SUCCESS!

(31 March 2014)

8th Collecta , which took place last week at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, successfully concluded on Saturday, March 29th. It attracted as many as 150 participants from 16 different countries. 6,000 visitors had the opportunity to get information about various collectibles and many others were able to bring and submit  their home collections for evaluation at the showrooms of the Numismatic Society of Slovenia, Philatelic Association of Slovenia and Philatelic Society of Ljubljana.

The eyes of many visitors were also attracted by the thematic exhibition The Game, which made both adults and children enthusiastic, the exhibition of Indian Post and Philately as well as numerous other exhibitions - Tito in Philately , different thematic posters, exhibition scout patches, facilities, signatures, etc. Like every year, we took care of knowledge transfer, in fact we organized several lectures on the colourful stones theme, proper recording of collections, etc...

The traditional auction , prepared by Antiquariat Glavan, also attracted many visitors. The most expensive item, which was sold for 600 EUR, was the decoration of Franz Joseph Ritterkreuz , while the Masquerade film posters and other collections of militaria were of great interest.

This year, as usual, Collecta was visited by many children. Groups of children from Šmarjeta, Celje, Izola, Središče ob  Dravi, Hajdina ... had the opportunity to realize what collecting really is, what items are collected and what they can collect themselves, through this they also learnt what kind of professions are behind  numerous collecting fields. A jeweller showed them tools and materials to work with, a police officer presented several police patches and vehicles, while at the philatelic workshop they familiarized themselves with the work of postmen. At the sculpture and restoration corner a true master of stonework presented himself.

We thank all participants, supporters and visitors who every year reaffirm that Collecta is a remarkable exhibition in this part of Europe, which provides a vast offer and attracts the interest of numerous visitors.

Stay with us, we will soon publish photo shootings from the fair!

About this years occasional material, which he designed, Mr. Učakar said: "The passion for collecting has no boundaries and collecting of gambling dices can also be a hobby. A very successfull fair, which has been going on for six years now and where visitors play all the time, gave me the idea of designing the dice with its maximum, in this case added value - the seventh dot. The die has been cast ...  and the 7th International Collecting Fair is here!"

The occasional philatelic material of this year's Collecta will be put on sale during the three-day event and the fair reception (at the entrance).
